So it’s day one of my first year at uni (last year was foundation year). It feels really good to be back to be honest. Over summer, I felt kind of lost… like in limbo. Yeah, I’ve done loads of stuff over the summer, but there’s not been that “structure” that Uni seems to give me. I need a routine to keep my mind going.

Recently, I was contacted by a reporter from BuzzFeed UK regarding issues that I have had in University over my foundation year, as she had seen my blog posts regarding discrimination.
It was a very hard piece for me to contribute towards, as it meant dragging up all of my emotions linked to my deafness… but I felt it was a worthwhile cause.
So, my foundation year at university is complete. It’s not been easy, and I’ve hit many access issues along the way – but I’ve come out stronger.

So, I’m currently at the Adept UK conference in bonnie Scotland. During one of the presentations, recorded lectures was very briefly touched upon, and how will it be made accessible to d/Deaf or HoH students. Coincidentally, I was asked very recently by UCLan for my views on the topic, which I wrote a four page long report. I had initially planned to release the report tonight; but now is a good enough time as any.
